5 Not-So-Boring Holiday Party Ideas That Get You Out of the Office

SOAK Reno Holiday Parties

‘Tis the season to PAR-TAY!

It’s that time of the year again – HOLIDAY PARTY! Remember how drunk Karen got last year? Yikes! You don’t want your employee becoming another embarrassing holiday party story I’m sure… Let’s avoid the boring potlucks, cookie exchanges, and gift exchanges on this one. Your employees would love a day or a few hours away from the office for a change! We get it, that’s why we compiled a list of things you can do this season that aren’t too boring that you and your team will be talking about for years to come…

1. Pamper Them

Yes, please! What better way to show your employees just how much you appreciate them than treating them to something you know they’ll love! Go above and beyond with a spa day or simply gift your employees gift certificates to a local spa… Better yet, plan a Holiday party with us at SOAK! They’ll leave with a foot/hand massage, freshly manicured nails and feeling good after a delicious cocktail or two! Unlike other spas, at SOAK they’ll still have the opportunity to mingle and bond while getting pampered.

2. See a Show

There are plenty of shows coming up throughout Reno during the Holiday season! A Christmas Story the Musical Nov 29 – Dec 1, Winter Dreams Circus Dec 6 – 22, The Reno Phil’s Spirit of the Season Dec 6 – 8, The Nutcracker at the Pioneer Center Dec 13 – 15, the magical Holiday Dreams show at Grand Sierra Dec 19 – Jan 1, enjoy the Christmas classics at Eldorado’s Santa’s Christmas Wonderland Dec 26.. and much more! Not confident you can choose a show your whole office will love… Let everyone vote!

3. Go Ice Skating

Talk about team building! Ice skating always proves to be a fun experience. Not only does this activity get your staff outside, you’ll also see your employees laughing and bonding throughout the day. Better yet, invite the whole family! Your staff would love the opportunity to bring their spouse and children along.

4.Cooking Class

‘Tis the season of stuffing your face with delicious food! What better way to do that then learn a new cooking technique or simply bake and decorate cookies! Your employees will have a blast and they’ll leave with a new skill or a batch of cookies they can take home to their family or serve at their own Holiday party.

5.Volunteer

Okay, so this one might not sound super exciting at first… But, how do you feel after you volunteer? Amazing, right?! Taking time away from the office to volunteer at the local soup kitchen, “adopt a family” from the Salvation Army Angel Tree or Boys and Girls Club and go shopping together or visit a local animal shelter… Whatever you choose to do, you and your employees will be feeling the Holiday spirit and grateful for the opportunity to help.

Whatever you choose to do this year, your employees will appreciate doing something different and getting out of the office. Making the effort to plan something new and thoughtful is the best way to show your employees just how much you value them and their hard work.
